A 17-year-old Spotsylvania County girl apparently lost control of her Mitsubishi coupe late Tuesday morning and slammed into a house off of Catharpin Road, police said.

The driver told police that the car started sliding and she swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle. She apparently overcorrected and the Mitsubishi ran off the road and into the house in the 10900 block of Catharpin Road, said Capt. Mike Harvey with the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office. The crash happened at about 11:20 a.m.

Harvey said there were no serious injuries and that no charges have been filed.

County inspectors were called in to estimate the damage to the house.
