Starting next week, the 200 block of Charlotte Street will be restricted to eastbound traffic, at least for several months, as part of the new courthouse project.
The new courthouse is being built at the corner of Charlotte and Princess Anne streets and is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2014.
At times the section of Charlotte Street will be closed completely so materials can be delivered. Also, on-street parking will be prohibited while work is being done.
The change could take effect as soon as Monday, according to the city.
Another project, the Amelia Square development, will shut down the 1000 block of Winchester Street for three months. The closure is set to start Friday.
The section that will be closed runs between William and Amelia streets where the old Fredericksburg Hardware store used to be.
