Work on the signal at William and Sophia streets will continue into early next week.
From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday crews will be milling and paving the intersection, which will stay open. There will be workers and equipment in the road during the work, so expect delays.
Crews have recently worked the four corners of the intersection at the Chatham Bridge as part of a project upgrading the signals, the city said in a release.
The contractor, B&B Signal Co., is handling the nearly $400,000 job, which will replace the span wire with a mast arm, add pedestrian signals and improve the pavement, according to city documents.
