Paving scheduled for Gordon Road

A paving project on Spotsylvania’s Gordon Road is scheduled to start Monday and last through Aug. 17.

The work will be done from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and it will include single-lane closures, so expect delays. The entire work zone will be between Chancellor Road and Harrison Road, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Crews will start milling and paving just north of Lakeland Way and will wrap up the project just south of Legacy Woods Drive.

While the single-lane closures are in place, flaggers will direct traffic, which will alternate using the open lane.

VDOT’s Kelly Hannon said they are doing the work in the daytime to avoid disturbing the many people who live in the work zone along Gordon Road.

You can find updated information, including details for work zones, at VDOT’s 511 page, or by calling 511.
