VRE plans for Friday afternoon crowds
The Virginia Railway Expressanticipates early crowds headed out for the Memorial Day weekend. The commuter rail system sent out a release detailing which trains will have the most cars. The release also notes the schedule changes for the long weekend.
Here’s the release:
Since for most of you, this is the last workday before the Memorial Day weekend, we expect the biggest loads on Fredericksburg Line Train #303 (departing Union Station at 3:35pm), Manassas Line Train #327 (departing Union Station at 3:45pm), and Manassas Line Train #329 (Departs Union Station at 4:25pm).
As a result, these are the longest trains today to better accommodate the riders leaving early for the holiday weekend.
Also, Fredericksburg #301 (Departs Union Station at 12:55p) will have six cars today instead of the normal four.
Please remember that VRE will not operate service on Monday, May 28th in observance of Memorial Day.
Regular service will resume on Tuesday, May 29th.
Enjoy your long weekend and remember to honor those who sacrificed their lives while serving their country.
