Bridge work to close Spotsylvania road Thursday
An unpaved section of Spotswood Furnace Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow while workers repair the bridge crossing Laroque Run, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Laroque Run is between Route 616 (US Ford Road) and Route 618 (River Road).
Workers will repair a beam so the bridge can continue to handle the posted three-ton weight weight limit for all vehicles.
The section of Spotswood Furnace Road carries an average of 240 vehicles a day, according to a 2010 VDOT traffic count.
