A crash involving a tractor-trailer and Honda Accord shut down a section of U.S. 15 in Culpeper for about three hours this morning.

At about 7:30 a.m., the northbound Honda apparently crossed the center line and hit the front corner of the 2007 International, which was hauling drywall, said 1st Sgt. Les Tyler with the Virginia State Police. The Honda driver was flown by helicopter to the University of Virginia Medical Center. The tractor-trailer driver was taken to Culpeper Hospital.

The crash happened about a mile north of the Culpeper/Orange county line, Tyler said. Trooper J.A. Taylor is handling the investigation. No charges have been filed.

The road was reopened at about 10:30 a.m.
