Mountainview Road intersection to get four-way stop
The intersection of Mountain View Road and Kellogg Mill Road in Stafford will become a “four-way stop” in June to help with peak travel periods. The stop signs should be up by mid-June.
Currently only Kellogg Mill Road has stop signs at the intersection.
Virginia Department of Transportation crews also will install flashing beacon lights to warn drivers of the new traffic pattern.
A “Stop Ahead” message will be painted on the pavement and stop bars will be added to the intersection.
VDOT conducted a traffic study and found that drivers on Kellogg Mill Road sometimes waited up to 10 minutes to make it through the Mountain View Road intersection during their morning commute.
The change will not only help Kellogg Mill Road drivers make it through the intersection more quickly, but should improve safety as well, according to VDOT.
