Church Of Beck

So the guy who leads a religious rally to restore honor has the habit of questioning someone else’s religion (Obama’s is a perversion of Christianity) and of calling someone you disagree with a racist. Now that just doesn’t seem very Christian like to me.

Well I’m not a Christian so let me say the guy is a toad, a pied piper, a charlatan selling snake oil and the only one who buys and drinks his crap are the most simple minded of fools. I’m not insulting conservatives as I know a LOT of conservatives who agree with me on this guy.

I was reading an article last week about how the birth rate in this country is dropping. I think that’s excellent news because we have enough idiots in this country (Hell, we did give Bush four years, Fox News is the most popular news network and Lady Gaga is the most popular “musician” right now). But knowing us, the cretins are the only ones who haven’t reduced their rate of breeding.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. My editor killed this cartoon. Not because he didn’t think it was fair. Sheesh, we don’t care about fairness. He thought it was funny but he just didn’t think it worked since Beck isn’t out there saying Obama is a Muslim. But I bet that 18% who believes Obama is a Muslim watches and listens to Beck (no, not the musician…that guy’s awesome). My editor did say the cartoon could run if I could find something else…but I wanted to stick with the Muslim thing.

And yeah, I think this blog will garner a few comments.

That probably explains your not knowing about the Christian value of forgiveness:

But this Sunday, when Wallace asked Beck if he regretted making those comments, Beck responded: “Of course I do.”

“I don’t want to retract… I want to amend that I think it is much more of a theological question,” Beck said. “He is a guy who understands the world through liberation theology — which is oppressor and victim. Racist was, first of all, shouldn’t have been said. It was poorly said.” After referencing his “big fat mouth,” Beck acknowledged “that’s just not the way people should behave. And it’s not accurate.”

If you want to see the America that Beck is urging on, you need only read his followers’ comments on this site http://wp.me/pNmlT-mI which is critical of Beck and his rally. They are cult like in their blind adherence to the Beck doctrine, and this despite the fact that for some, like the Tea Party, Beck’s worldview contradicts their core belief in the Constitution and the separation of church and state! It is sobering to read and provides a warning we all need to heed.

Craig, maybe it’s my knowledge of Christianity that keeps me from being a Christian. I grew up in a Church atmosphere and even went to a private Baptist school for a year. I do know a little about the subject.

Wow, Beck was so Christian like Sunday when he regretted calling Obama a racist…but then he went on to question the guy’s religion.

Who cares if he questions the guy’s religion. That doesn’t come close to the ‘sin’ of calling someone a racist, which he states he regrets doing.

You’re getting a bit too thin-skinned in your defense of this president. You’re picking on some radio personality just because he brings together a lot of people who you disagree with. The nerve of this Beck guy.
