I like this cartoon.  I like the art, I like the joke…I LOOOOVE the bubbles.  Drawing bubbles is fun.  I’ll have to think of more bubble content cartoons.  Right now I’m still working on Emily’s hippo.

State of the industry

I haven’t posted about all the layoffs industry wide, because I’m tired of the bad news.  It’s been bad.  A lot of journalists have been laid off and it’s horrible.  Yesterday, the Richmond Times-Dispatch laid of over 90 people with one of them being my friend Gary Brookins.  Gary has been there for decades, great cartoonist and a super nice guy.   My best wishes go out to him.  This may make me the last working cartoonist in Virginia.

Rock N Roll Tonight

The band kicks butt.  You’ll like it…or maybe hate it if loud garage rock isn’t your thing.  We don’t play any covers, all songs are original…and though it’s loud, everything has a hook and a melody.  And it’s happening tonight at KC’s Music Alley, 1917 Princess Anne St.  Come check us out.  Show starts at 9:00 PM.
