Babs

Seriously, I don’t think anyone has to image.google Barbra Streisand before they draw her.  Just put in hair and a big nose.

When I first thought of this idea I went upstairs to get it approved and all the lights in the editorial office was out.  But since this was picking on Obama AND Barbra Streisand I thought to myself "how can it not be approved?".  I drew the cartoon and turned it in.  As I was driving away from this office my editor called me to ask if I had a cartoon (and it’s not fun trying to drive a stick shift while talking on the phone.  I’m against it).  I told him I did it, turned it in and that he would like it.  He said "OK, then I’m not even gonna go look at it.  I trust you".  Then I turned around to drive back to the office to see who was impersonating my editor.  HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Ted

Ted Rall is the new president of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists.  He just published a column about why editorial cartoons matter.  It’s really a good read.  It’s so good I almost read the entire thing.  The only part I dispute is when he writes there was once 2,000 editorial cartoonists employed in this country.

Oliphant

Pat Oliphant has a grand tradition of upsetting religious types.  Usually it’s Catholics.  This time he’s irked Pentecostals.
