I am so tired. I’m dog sitting for a friend. Zoey is a female Jack Russell Beagle mix. I have her dad, Toby who’s a Jack and her brother, Chubbs, who resembles a Beagle more than a Jack. For being the runt of the litter and much smaller than her brother, Zoey can slam Chubbs on his back and bark in his face. She has this very tiny growl that lets Chubbs know she’s not playing. Bad thing is I had to sleep with all three dogs last night. Zoey wants to sleep in my face and occasionally she’s in the mood to give me a french kiss. Not pleasant at three in the morning. Chubbs wouldn’t lay still for most of the night while Toby was just fine and stayed in one spot. I think he was as annoyed with the other two as much as I was. I think I woke up every hour with either a tongue on my mouth or Zoey walking on my hair while Chubbs takes a strategic step on very delicates parts of my anatomy I don’t like having a 22 pound dog stepping on. I have at least three more nights of this. I eventually gave up sleeping around six a.m., took a shower (with a dog), walked, fed and watered them and then I came to work.
Here’s yesterday’s cartoon which was drawn when my mind was much fresher than it is today.

I’m happy with this cartoon. I noticed from a photo that the governor’s hair is kinda sticking straight up now so I adjusted his caricature accordingly. Sorry I haven’t posted many roughs this month. I know they’re popular so I’ll give you the rough to this cartoon.

George Carlin
I’m very sad to read George Carlin died today. I’m a big fan. Nobody has ever spoofed reality as the ridiculous charade we know it is as well as Carlin. Tomorrow you’ll find a dozen editorial cartoons with George in Heaven being told he can’t say those seven words up there. I really think doing a standard obituary cartoon for Carlin would be very anti-Carlin. My tribute to him will be my not drawing an obituary cartoon for him.
