I was a huge Peanuts fan when I was a kid.  I’ve gone to the extent where I think I’ve used too many Peanuts analogies in my cartoons.  I’ve done kicking the football, Charlie Brown getting his clothes knocked off by a speeding fastball (like this one by Jake Fuller), Lucy’s psychiatric booth, Snoopy’s dog house, the Great Pumpkin, etc.  I’m to the point where I’m trying not to repeat those analogies anymore since I’m guilty of using each of those several times.  I’ve used the characters in a few cartoons without the classic Peanuts analogies so I’ll probably do even more of those over the years.  I’ll try to spread them around.

I wasn’t satisfied with the text in the first speech balloon in the rough (see below).  So I bounced a few things off Paul and Linda and Paul scribbled some text around my text and I went with that.  Now that’s good editting!
