I had three ideas yesterday and I didn’t hate all of them which is rare.  This was favorite because I just thought it was stronger, funnier and had more potential to get me in trouble.  I like those kind of ideas.

What’s really cool is that I liked the art a lot the day after which is also rare.  Usually when I go to editorialcartoonists.com and see it with the other professional cartoons of the day I’m usually thinking “oh God, I drew crap!”.  I think it’s the bricks.  The bricks just worked out for me.  I did have to change the talking insurgent in the toon as he looked like he was wearing a burqa before I fixed it.

I changed the text around in the speech balloon and transferred most of it to the newspaper.

This is about the college cartoon at the Cavalier Daily that ignited a raging inferno of upsetness.  C-Ville something or other…it’s a weekly paper for Charlottesville, ran a story quoting some cartoonists about the offensive cartoon and a few others.  They actually post a copy of the Ethiopian Food Fight cartoon.  You decide if it’s funny.
