To all you critics who accuse me of being this ultra left wing zealot, you should go back and check out how I covered the Clinton administration. This guy was ripe for satire and provided us with grade A material on a daily basis. Liberal cartoonists tore the guy up just as much as conservatives. Of course, you don’t see that many conservative cartoonists criticizing Bush much.
But what about Clinton’s explosive defense on Fox? Well, I think he’s got a point in some areas and not in others. I think he over reacted but that was his intention. I don’t think it was a conservative witch hunt to ask him a very pertinent question. I don’t think Clinton did enough to chase down bin Laden, nor did Bush before 9/11. And I do think it’s hypocritical for conservatives who wanted this guy to spend his entire administration hamstrung by sex allegations and impeachment to now cry about how he didn’t do his job. Conservatives didn’t want him to do his job. But at the same time, Clinton wasn’t a good president and this is the message the cartoon is meant to send. Clinton’s entire life has been about self promotion. Yes, I do think he cared about real people more than a George W. Bush does. But Clinton puts himself first. And he still is with his angry defense on Fox. He didn’t defend his administration as much as he defended himself…and really, that’s just about all he’s ever done.
