The Fredericksburg Green Party will be hosting an organizational meeting for the first ever permanent Green Party group on the Mary Washington Campus, this coming Monday night at 6pm in Monroe Hall, Room 201.
The reason I’m bringing this up is because I’m going to speak at this meeting. And before you start thinking I’m a Green let me clarify: I’m not a member of any party but I will speak to almost any political group that encourages involvement, especially to those just reaching the age to participate in democracy. I’m also a believer in a three party system, though I don’t think the United States will ever support more than two major parties. Plus, there’ll be free pizza.
Seriously, one of my best friends is the coordinator for the Fredericksburg Green Party and he’s also the drummer for my band. I owe Chris Fink about a gazillion favors so when he asked me to help out I didn’t hesitate.
I plan to talk about cartoons and hopefully promote The Free Lance-Star to out of town students who currently don’t read this publication. In addition, I’ll show off a few cartoons and take questions from the audience.
So if you’re interested in the Green Party, politics in general, cartoons or free pizza, then come down to Monroe Hall, Room 201 at 6pm this Monday night.
I got dibs on the pepperoni.
