Stafford County to offer boating safety class

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a boating safety class in an effort to promote safe boating practices, the county’s crime prevention unit said in a Wednesday release.

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will present the class on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 9:00am – 6:00pm at the Public Safety Center, 1125 Courthouse Road, Stafford 22555.

Boating Law, Boat Safety Equipment, Safe Boating, Navigation, Trailering, Storing and Protecting Your Boat are some of the topics that will be discussed.   Many boat insurance agencies will offer discounts to boaters who successfully complete this class, the release said.
