Candidates to speak at Thursday forum
Local and state candidates hoping to represent Stafford County will be at a forum Thursday evening.
The Stafford County NAACP’s annual forum is the only time this year all candidates will be in one place. No other debates are set.
The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Brooke Point High School, 1700 Courthouse Road. It could run until 10 p.m.
Candidates will include those for Board of Supervisors in four of the county’s districts–Falmouth, Hartwood, Aquia and Garrisonville. School board candidates from those districts will also be there, as well candidates for the 2nd and 88th House Districts.
“The forum is designed to give Stafford residents a chance to learn more about those who seek to represent them. Each candidate will have the opportunity to discuss their priorities and residents will have a chance to ask questions about issues that matter to them,” states a press release from NAACP.
Libertarian candidate for governor, Robert Sarvis, will also be present.
