Concealed weapons permits up 170%

The monthly statistical report the county issues is full of interesting tidbits. Here is February’s if you want to take a look.

Here are some numbers that stood out in the sheriff’s office section:

The number of concealed weapons permits and federal licenses increased by 169 percent. In January 2013, there were 567, compared to 211 in January 2012.

For all of 2012, there were 2,062 permits, a 57 percent increase from the previous year.
