Response to developer lawsuit filed
Stafford’s county attorneys last week filed a response to the lawsuit from developer D.R. Horton.
In it, the county denies all claims against itself, the Board of Supervisors, County Administrator Anthony Romanello and Planning Director Jeff Harvey. It was filed Dec. 18. The developer may bring it before a judge.
D.R. Horton, owner of a 472-acre tract of land known as Clift Farm Quarter, filed suited asking the Circuit Court to order the county to approve a cluster subdivision concept plan. Last month, the board’s majority said a review before the Planning Commission was needed first, to determine if the project’s request to connect 196 lots to public utilities was reasonable and in line with the Comprehensive Plan.
