New history mural hangs outside county government center
When you visit Stafford’s government center now, it’ll be almost like a trip to the museum.
A new mural was unveiled last week, showcasing 350 years of history, all on one wall. It’s similar in scope to the mural inside Stafford Hospital.
Hartwood artist Dale Glasgow created both murals. Famous figures include George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Pocahontas, Captain John Smith, Gari Melchers, Moncure Conway and George Mason. The timeline also includes text and photos of artifacts.
It measures 7-by-27 feet, and is permanently on the outdoor wall along the covered walkway. It cost $22,000. Find photos from the county here.
