Registrar: Average of 46 new registered voters per day for 10 weeks

Monday was the last day in Virginia to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election.

While the Stafford Registrar doesn’t have the final numbers for how many people filed a registration on that day, here’s some interesting numbers through last week.

From Aug. 1, 2008 to Aug. 1, 2012, there were 9,198 “net” new registrants (when taking into account transfers in and out of the county). That’s an average of 9 per day for four years.

This year, between Aug. 1 and Oct. 12, there were 2,414 new registered voters. That’s an average of 46 applications per day for 10 weeks.
