Architectural design survey results in
About 130 people responded to a survey about what new kinds of architecture they could picture in Stafford County. The results, which are posted as part of Wednesday’s Planning Commission agenda, will be used to form the county’s architectural design guidelines, a new amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. Of the surveys, 100 were complete.
Survey-takers were asked to rate series of images–of homes, apartments, townhomes, trashcans, bike racks, parking lots and more. The groups of images were then ranked as most and least favorite. The 155-question survey was available online and at two public meetings at the county’s libraries. The final report, including staff analysis, should be complete by Sept. 5.
The Planning Commission will likely vote to authorize a public hearing at its Aug. 15 meeting. That hearing could be set for Sept. 19.
