Citizens Academy to begin Aug. 9, sign-ups starting now
Want to find out more about how Stafford County works? Participate in the Citizens Academy in August.
The twice-yearly academy consists of classes taught by county employees. The free program focuses on educating residents, business owners and anyone else who may work in Stafford on how daily operations contribute to the community. Topics will include an introduction to local government, information on various departments and programs, the budget, and history and tourism. Students will also get a tour of the public safety building.
The academy will run Thursday evenings, Aug. 9-30, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Space is limited and students are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must be 16. Register with Jeff Shover at 540/658-4516.
