Former Stafford supervisor Lloyd Chittum died Sunday, July 15. He was 74. (Here is the short obituary from today’s paper.)
Chittum served on the Board of Supervisors as the Hartwood District representative from 1982 to 1985. According to a press release: he “enhanced the county’s fiscal health and financial standards, worked to secure much needed right-of-ways for water and sewer lines throughout Stafford, and helped to establish the Department of Utilities”. Over the years, he served on many boards and commissions, including the Juvenile Detention Board; the Parks and Recreation Commission; Welfare Board; Planning Commission; Civilian Military Relations Board; and Utilities Commission.
