Walk It! Bike It! Run It!
Save the date: June 23 will be community event for Stafford’s new Belmont-Ferry Farm Trail. (The title of this post is the name of the event.)
Driving along River Road, you can see the last piece being done for Phase 3 of the project, the switchback up through Brooks Park. Once that is complete, runners, bikers and walkers can go from Belmont through Pratt Park. You’ll have to wait awhile longer for the trail to link all the way to Ferry Farm, though. But once the full trail is complete, it’ll be about 4 miles. (Here’s a previous story about the trail.)
On Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to noon, families and residents will be invited to the trail for a day of fun. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony, vendors along the trail, and possible kids activities like a race or scavenger hunt. Final plans are still in the works.
