Campaign finance reports filed
The special election for the Garrisonville Supervisor is set for next Tuesday, April 3. Political newcomer and retired Air Force Col. Jac Starkey, a Democrat, is taking on the appointed interim supervisor Ty Schieber, a Republican.
Campaign finance reports were due yesterday to the State Board of Elections. Here is Schieber’s. But Starkey’s is not yet available online. He may be the first candidate in the state to have filed with the State Board’s new online filing system, which was set in place for the May elections in many towns and cities. Neither the Virginia Public Access Project nor the Stafford Registrar have received his filing from the state yet.
Once that report is up, I’ll post the link. This round of reports is for campaign activity from mid-January until March 23.
Also, I’m talking with both candidates this week. Check back for a story about their preparations for Tuesday’s election — and why they’re hoping for your vote.
