100 registered for Bellissimo Ball

More than 100 students are already registered for the first dance for special needs students in the Fredericksburg area–and there is room for about 75 more.

The Bellissimo Ball will be held Friday, May 11, from 7-10 p.m. at the Wingate Inn Fredericksburg on U.S. 17. It’s put on by the Stafford-based Ladies Business Networking and Special Olympics; I wrote about their plans here.

The organizers are still looking for a DJ willing to donate time, and funds for several key things needed for the night. An auction has been set up on the group’s website with donated goods and services. There is also a raffle for a quilt, and a Donate Now button to cover expenses. Wingate is also offering reduced rates for families who may want to stay at the hotel that night: 540/368-8000.

The group is planning an August event, Women in Transition, which will help women looking for jobs and preparing for interviews. They also hope to hold a job fair.

Anyone interested in donating to or helping with upcoming events should contact the group at or visit their website.
