More resources for women in business
Earlier this month, I met an enthusiastic group of women who are excited about their new group, the Ladies Small Business Network. Their idea is to share networking and marketing techniques within the group–along with personal advice for running their homes and personal lives. ”We have our own special challenges,” said photographer and member Karen Presecan. “Most of us are mothers and wives and significant others. Most have other jobs. There’s a lot going on.” Read more of the story here.
Here are some other resources in the area for women in business:
- The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce has a women’s networking opportunity called CNEW–Chamber’s Network of Enterprising Women. Here’s the group’s website: http://www.fredericksburgchamber.org/cnew/index.htm. They meet every third Tuesday of the month.
- General business development advice can be found from the Small Business Development Center. Here’s more info: http://economicdevelopment.umw.edu/sbdc/.
- Women in Business Leadership offers luncheons each month for female business owners, managers and corporate officers to meet, mingle, share marketing literature and hear a guest speaker. Here’s their link: http://sixdegreesllc.com/?cont_uid=2.
