Geotechnical work begins on landslide properties
The first steps are being taken to determine if and how the two properties in the Austin Ridge subdivision affected by the landslide could be repaired. Geotechnical work began this week, and expected to take several days. Results of the soil boring work will be sent to an engineering laboratory for analysis. The Landslide Disaster Relief Fund set up by Ebenezer United Methodist Church will cover the approximately $15,000 fee.
Yesterday, Sen. Richard Stuart also visited the site on Brush Everard Court, where a landslide has been threatening two homes for the past month. He talked to the homeowners about the step-by-step sinking of the land and the progress to find a solution.
