Developer declines to meet with county
Richard Wolff, president of Geo. H. Rucker Realty Corporation, said he will not be meeting with representatives from Stafford County government or the homeowners affected by the landslide in the Austin Ridge subdivision.
“I respectfully declined to meet with the county,” Wolff said.
Homeowners Dan and Michele O’Leary said last week they had hoped the county would facilitate a meeting with the developer.
The Geo. H. Rucker Realty website lists Austin Ridge Shopping Center as a current project, with plans to locate a 250,000 square foot retail center at the intersection of Austin Ridge Drive and Courthouse Road. Wolff says while the project is still online, there are no current plans for its development because of the effects of the economy. “Whether that will ever come to fruition is anyone’s guess,” Wolff said.
The Austin Ridge HOA is having a town hall meeting at 7:30 tonight with the homeowners, Board of Supervisors chairman Mark Dudenhefer and members of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, which began a relief fund. The meeting has been relocated to Anthony Burns Elementary, 60 Gallery Road.
