An Eggsplosion of Agendas!

In the interest of closing the loop I opened here, Stafford County Public Information officer Cathy Riddle has informed me that a slew of past agendas have been added to the new Stafford website. Looks like you have plans for the weekend after all!

Have they fixed their PDFs so they come up in the browser plug-in instead of having to download them to your computer?

What a PAIN!

I spent quite a bit of time just trying to find a 2012 budget that showed exactly how much the county was transferring to the Schools – and the total capital debt for schools and between the murky presentation of the budget docs of both county and schools and the fact that most of the county budget docs required a download to read… was a real turnoff.

I hope that’s not going to be their SOP

the other thing I noticed about is that their docs are scanned in as PDFs – not generated as PDFs – and the distinction is that when they are scanned in – the PDF Search feature is worthless.

I give Stafford a D- in budget transparency and process.
