A Graphic Look At Population Growth

I was messing around with the Google Public Data Explorer and I thought I’d use the census data Google has to compare the growth in our region. This is the result.

The graph is interactive, so you can mouse over specific line points and specific counties to highlight them. Nothing ground-breaking, but sort of fun. I’ll see if I can do something similar that includes more up-to-date census info.

Unfortunately the data does not reflect the 2010 Census. The Census shows Stafford just short of 130,000. If state population projections are correct and we need the 15,000 new homes over 10 years should we not have a plan to pay for the needed services like schools, roads and public safety? Who pays for the infrastructure and the additional day to day operating expenses?
