Let’s Get Ready To Rrrrredistrict!
A committee of Stafford County supervisors–Mark Dudenhefer, Susan Stimpson and Harry Crisp–have been trying to figure out how to re-draw the election district boundary lines. There was little disagreement at their last committee meeting on Tuesday, although Supervisor Bob Woodson was concerned that some Aquia Harbor residents would be moved into the Aquia district and would therefore be unable to vote at the precinct in the Harbor as they do currently.
Two maps are below. One is of the proposed new boundaries, and the other is of the boundaries as they stand today. The new boundaries are strictly a proposal, but it is the map the committee is working from as they go forward with a couple town hall meetings.
Speaking of town hall meetings, here are the details:
Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
Stafford High School auditorium
33 Stafford Indian Lane
Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
North Stafford High School auditorium
839 Garrisonville Road
If you have an opinion on the proposed map or the process, this is your chance to be heard. There is still work to be done to set voting precincts, and officials are still unsure whether precincts will need to be added. Of course, this is all subject to change.
