Board of Supervisors: The Pre-Game Show
Just a quick look at the agenda for tomorrow’s Stafford County Board of Supervisors meeting. Remember, this is the first meeting of the supervisors’ new meeting schedule. This one starts at 3 p.m. rather than 1 p.m.
There are three public hearings tomorrow, and one is scheduled for the afternoon. That one is a continuation of a Conditional Use Permit discussion that could allow a new gas station on the corner of U.S. 17 and Berea Church Road (across from Geico). Of the two in the evening session (scheduled, as usual, for 7 p.m.), one deals with parking in Berkshire subdivision and the other amends a CUP to allow a vinyl fence at the Living Hope Lutheran Church.
Another interesting item is a request from land use attorney Clark Leming to amend the text of the zoning ordinance for Traditional Neighborhood Design. Staff recommends using tourism fund dollars to support the Stafford Civil War Park and supervisors may take action to release funds withheld pending a mid-year financial review.
Of course, sleet is in the forecast for tomorrow, so you might want to keep an eye on what Chris White has to say in our local weather blog.
Finally, county officials have rescheduled the Urban Development Area workshop that was postponed due to weather last week. It will be held Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at the new England Run Library.
