Who is affected by the recent parking ordinances in Stafford? Whether you are pro or con, I’d like to hear from you.
Some background. Stafford recently has passed a number of ordinances designed to control parking on public roads in the county. Sheriff’s deputies are now authorized to give parking tickets to vehicles parked improperly on public roads.
Much of this arose from concerned residents years ago. Some people didn’t like their neighbors parking (and, in some cases, storing) trailers, boats, RVs, campers and commercial vehicles on neighborhood streets.
Check this 2007 article by Kelly Hannon to get an idea.
A county ordinance now regulates just that, but allows neighborhoods to decide on their own whether to enforce the ordinance. I’d like to know if there are people out there who will support enforcement, or people on the other side who will fight enforcement tooth and nail.
