Something is Rotten at the Curtis Park Pool

There has been much discussion about the lack of adequate swimming facilities in Stafford. In fact, Woodlands Pool is the only public year-round cement pond. Without the cash to build an entirely new aquatic complex, Supervisor Mark Dudenhefer (I think he pitched it first) looked into the possibility of renovating and covering the Curtis Park pool.

To that end, the county has received this proposal.

The pool is 35 years old.

Interesting that the P&R bond includes $6 million for Curtis Park renovations, yet that doesn’t cover even the least expensive of the proposals in this report. I wonder what will be dropped should the bond pass and the project get OK’d.
