Spotsy schools superintendent agrees to new, four-year contract
The Spotsylvania County School Board on Monday night unanimously approved a new, four-year contract for Superintendent Scott Baker.
Baker will make $190,000 during the first year of the contract, which runs from July 1, 2014, until June 30, 2018. The School Board can increase Baker’s annual salary, but his pay cannot be lowered unless he and the School Board agree to a salary reduction in writing.
Baker’s previous contract paid him $170,000 annually, or $20,000 less than the new deal. He became superintendent on July 1, 2012, after serving as Spotsylvania’s assistant superintendent of instruction.
