Group opposed to planned Spotsy raceway to boycott meeting

UPDATE: A group calling itself “The Coalition to Preserve the Thornburg Countryside,” which opposes the raceway, sent a letter to the county Wednesday saying it will boycott Thursday’s information meeting on the raceway. Coalition President Joyce Ackerman complained that the meeting was being promoted as a pep rally. Read her letter here.

People interested in the Dominion Raceway being proposed in Thornburg can attend a community information meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Ramada Inn at 5324 Jefferson Davis Highway in Spotsylvania County. Click here for background on the planned speedway.
