Committee of 500 chair steps down
Cristine Lynch is stepping down as chair and board member of the Committee of 500 after being appointed last week to the Spotsylvania County Planning Commission.
Spotsylvania Supervisor Benjamin Pitts appointed Lynch to the commission at a meeting last Tuesday.
“If I were to remain on the C500 board it could create the appearance of a conflict of interest since C500 often takes positions on Planning Commission cases,” Lynch wrote in an email. “Although I am sad to leave the C500 board after many years of involvement, I am excited about my new job.”
Committee of 500 Vice Chair Pete Kolakowski will complete her term as chair, she said.
