Assessed value of commercial and residential property drops in Spotsy
The assessed value of commercial property in Spotsylvania County dropped 9 percent since 2010, based on assessment notices mailed this week.
The assessed value of residential property dropped 2.2 percent, Spotsylvania Commissioner of the Revenue Debbie Williams said in an email.
The county’s taxable real estate—excluding new construction—is about $12.2 billion, which is a 3.75 percent decrease from the last time property was assessed two years ago. Commercial property is 21.4 percent of that figure, and residential is 78.6 percent.
