Summerfield hearings rescheduled
The Summerfield proffer amendment case has been scheduled for the Jan. 4 Planning Commission meeting. Public hearings begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room in the Holbert Building (9104 Courthouse Road).
You may remember that the case has already been before the commission, which voted to approve Marion Hicks’ request to get his proffers reduced to build Summerfield, a planned neighborhood off U.S. 1 near Kingswood. But the case was sent back to the Planning Commission on the advice of the county attorney. Required legal documents were missing from the file. These documents were sworn statements saying that neighbors of the project had been mailed information about the hearing. The fact that the documents were missing was discovered just before the hearing was set for the Board of Supervisors.
