Jeff Branscome writes about Spotsylvania County.
You may remember from the last board meeting that supervisors asked for the price tag on 24/7 career fire and ems coverage. Supervisors asked after learning that some of the stations are not staffed on many nights and weekends. Fire and EMS Chief Chris Eudailey presented a plan to staff some stations Monday morning through Friday night. He and Deputy Chief Monty Willaford told the supervisors that was the most career coverage they could offer without needing more money.
No word yet on the cost of going 24/7, but I was wondering what county residents thought about the issue.
