Getting ready

Today’s storm was pretty powerful. And if forecasters are right, it’s just a preview of what we can expect this weekend. Spotsylvania officials urge residents to follow usual preparation guidelines.

This includes creating an emergency kit, bringing outdoor furniture inside and storing water. Also make sure you know where your flashlight and extra batteries are.

And make a plan for your family.
