Northeast Foods to close Spotsy factory
For years, people have noticed the sweet smell of baking bread might stop wafting near the Spotsy campus of Germanna. In a month, that smell could be gone for good. Northeast Foods plans to close its Automatic Rolls of Virginia on Aug. 1, due to lack of work.
It has long been assumed that the Massaponax bread factory made buns for McDonald’s, though the company wouldn’t confirm this for an FLS story eight years ago.
The closing will affect 67 employees–23 will be relocated and 44 will be laid off.
I’m very interested in talking with one of those 67 people; if you’re one of them, please give me a call. My number is 540/735-1973. You can also email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
