There will be a citizen representative position open on the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Commission. Chairman and current citizen rep Fred Messing’s term expires July 1, and county residents can apply for the position.
The Commission aims to ensure that Spotsylvania County residents receive efficient fire and emergency medical services every hour or every day. Commission meetings are held bi-monthly (usually scheduled for January, March, May, July, September, and November). Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month, 7 p.m., in the Board of Supervisors Meeting Room of the Holbert Building.

Commission members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for staggered terms of three years and serve at the pleasure of the Board. Commission members are eligible to be reappointed any number of times. There are no term limits. For details, call 540/507-7900.
