On tap tonight: budgets, UDAs

OK, budget season has officially begun. This is the period they warned me about when I took over the county beat.

County Administrator Doug Barnes will present his proposed budget tonight at the Board of Supervisors meeting. The fun starts at 6 p.m., and the budget is scheduled for 6:10.

So let’s try to get through these next few months together. I promise not to write words like fiduciary, redistributive and contigency. I’d like to get through the next few months without writing “expenditure,” but it’s not likely.

A joint session with the planning commission starts at 7 p.m. Supervisors and commission members will discuss urban development areas.
