More freedom and more money.

Those top the Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors’ wish list for the General Assembly.

More specifically, the county wants more transportation money and funds to back the unfunded mandates passed on to localities.

The supervisors also want a one-year extension on the deadline for the Urban Development Areas. Read more about UDAs here and here.

The county is asking for more “local authority,” including the right to put cameras in traffic lights, more leeway on grievance processes and a relaxation of the Dillon Rule.
