Fortune 50 Company Still In Running
As an update to the post here, Russell Seymour, Spotsylvania County’s director of economic development, told me today that the Fortune 50 company is still interested in moving here. That proposal, and the incentive package, is still alive.
The county offered to match up to $100,000 in grants from the Virginia Department of Transportation Industrial Access Fund for the business and $300,000 for infrastructure improvements if the business locates within the 95 Commerce Business Park off U.S. 17 and remains in operation for five years.
This information, and more, will be included in a story I am currently working on. Seymour hopes to hear something in the fall about this mystery company that has demanded secrecy in its dealings with county officials.
The information is timely because of the $285,000 incentive package recently approved for a much smaller company.
