Board Looks to Change Meeting Times
There is a proposal on tonight’s agenda to end work sessions and replace them with a regular meeting. The real change is the times meetings start.
Currently, the Board of Supervisors meets twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesdays. The second meeting has always been a work session and it would start at 6 p.m., like tonight’s meeting, for example.
But Supervisor T.C. Waddy recently complained that the meetings have been lasting too long, past or near midnight (the county has a bylaw rule that meetings cannot go past midnight without a vote).
So tonight, supervisors will vote on a proposal to have both meetings start at 3 p.m.
I don’t know many working people who can make a 3 p.m. meeting, but then again, very few, if any, residents attend these meetings. You could always TIVO-DVR the meetings and watch them later over popcorn.
